Stanberry Board of Ed talks conference participation increase

The Stanberry R-II Board of Education met on Monday. Superintendent Bob Heddinger says this year's parent teacher conferences saw an increase in participation in both the elementary and high school levels.

"In the elementary, it was nearly 99%, if I remember correctly.  So it was great turnout, great opportunity for the school, teachers, and parents to meet and talk about the great things that their children are doing."

Other items included a recognition of the eight students who attended the 92nd National FFA Conference and Expo in October. The students had the opportunity to travel to Indianapolis, Indiana to meet other FFA members at the annual meeting.

"It's one of those events that again is an annual thing we do here in Stanberry and most of the northwest school districts that have Ag programs participate in that as well.  It's an opportunity for some good leadership activities, getting out and meeting other folks from other school districts around the nation."

The next school board meeting will be held Monday, December 16th.
